Friendly South Poll Cattle

This is a typical scene for an evening with a few of our South Poll Cows.   We began using South Poll bulls exclusively in our herd in 2012.  We calve in April-May, so we need something heat tolerant for the summer breeding season of July and August.  Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue is the majority of our grass base which places extra heat stress on cattle due to the endophyte toxicity, but our South Poll cattle handle it in stride.

South Poll Cattle are also enjoyable because of their calm nature.  Checking cows is a family event with friendly South Polls!
